
WHAT IS A CONSULAR REPORT OF BIRTH ABROAD (CRBA)?
Transmission of U.S. citizenship depends on the following:
At least one parent must have U.S. citizenship at the time of the child’s birth;
Documentary evidence demonstrating the U.S. citizen parent(s)’ presence in the United States before the child’s birth;
For a child born in wedlock, the existence of a genetic or gestational relationship between the child and at least one of the married parents;
For a child born out of wedlock, a genetic or gestational relationship exists between the child and the U.S. citizen parent(s).

The application fee for a Consular Report of Birth Abroad (CRBA) is $100.00.
The application fee for citizenship as an adult is $165.00.
This non-refundable fee is to be paid during your appointment at the Embassy or Consular Agency. We accept major credit cards and cash payments (in U.S dollars or Philippine pesos, exact change preferred) at both of our locations.
If your appointment is at the Embassy in Manila, please also be prepared to pay a courier delivery fee (cash in Philippine pesos only) for the return shipment of an approved CRBA and/or first-time U.S. passport.
